Artist history
Miss Shell has been singing for as long as she can remember. Back in high school in England, she would hide up the back and sing the harmonies to all the hymns in assembly. Since moving to Australia at the age of 16, she has starred at many informal karaoke evenings in Perth, just for fun.
---------------------------------------
Her approach to singing became more focused in 1998, when she moved to London, and started writing songs to pass the time in the cold dark English winter evenings. A work colleague recognised her talent and potential at a karaoke event, and encouraged her to pursue it more seriously.
Whilst looking for formal singing tuition, she came across an advert that her producer had placed offering training in studio techniques. They made a formidable team that produced amazing results, mixing some tracks at Denmark St studios in London. In May 2000 Miss Shell was invited to perform as part of a showcase of original songwriters in London, at "The Orange" in West Kensington. In August 2001 she also took part in the very first Pop Idol in the UK.

Upon returning home to Perth, Miss Shell spent some time with ex-WAAPA vocal coach Gloria Wilson to improve her technique and expand her range. More recently she has teamed up with local songwriter Shaun Bunting (ex Solid State) and is working on new material.
